The Opening Wedge Osteotomy System was developed for the facilitation of safe and reproducible osteotomies for the treatment of pain and/or instability associated with lower extremity malalignment. The utilization of the Arthrex^® family of unique plates, in conjunction with an opening wedge osteotomy, provides the surgeon with a safe, reliable and reproducible technique for tibial or femoral osteotomies.

Opening Wedge Osteotomies can be performed concomitantly with the ACL reconstruction and osteochondral and meniscal transplants among other soft tissue and cartilage restorative procedures. Protective Correction of alignment has been shown to improve success and satisfaction of these conservative treatments.
