For transverse fractures, especially star and complex fractures, the newly developed patella SuturePlate is suitable for osteosynthesis. The plate is applied from anterior (Star / Arrow Plate) on the patella. The anchoring screws bring stability. The advantage is less damage to surrounding soft-tissue during implantation, and there is no need to manipulate tendons, as they are necessary in the cerclage and tension band wiring. The mechanical stability of the plate is significantly higher than that of the tension band wiring.
